HELP!!!!! I've broken my ITR tranny 3x since march....need a solution to my 2nd gear problem
I just finished my turbo type r. It weights about 2300 without me in and i keep blowing the tranny. Im on low boost and on street tires. I thought i would brake stock axles first but instead i am on my third transmission since march. It seems like every time i get on it in second gear i blow the tires up and my transmission. I dont know what i need to do for a fix i have a act 6 puck clutch and a streetlite flywheel. Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket brand of second gear or heat treating that can fix my problem.
I noticed alot of companys sell the first gear and 3rd and 4th gear sets but none for second please correct me if im wrong. I love type r integras but i cant afford to break it anymore and its making me almost want to sell the car

buy an LS transmission so it wont hurt your pocket so much when you blow it up.

Sounds like your shifting wrong.
But mfactory sells straight cut gears if I'm not correct.

define "Broken" and "Blown-up"
Not trying to be a dick but quite often the answers to your cry for help are sitting inside the damaged mission starring you right in the face.
Explain how the transmission looks...Which compenents are fused or shattered and I'm sure that we can help to pinpoint the source of your problem.
Also of note: the tire setup, alignment setup, and suspension components can all have a negative effect on the transmission's logevity.
I seriously doubt that the transmissions are rendered absolutely useless by your monstrous horsepower. I've brought several transmissions back from the dead and sold them after they were given to me. It usually hurts peoples feelings to find out that you can profit off of their ignorance.
I'm sure that for less than the cost of a new tranny you could repair the ones you have already cast aside.
BTW I've seen ACT clutches ruin many daily drivers.

i wanna no what kinda power he is making to be blowing up trans like that myself b series trans can take alot of power its h series that are weak what happens when it breaks ? what parts are you replacing ? and act clutches ive heard have a problem locking people out at high rpm
Something dosn't seem right. I have cleared 600 whp with a stock ITR tranny, 12 lbs flywheel and stage 6 CC sprung with no issues.
Is your clutch sprung or unsprung? How many pounds is your flywheel?

yeah its easy to pin point the problem when you pull out the gears and they dont have any teeth. I should post some pictures. Yes it has tranny fluid. and you do have more probability to blow up a tranny in a boosted car
and my tires are yokohomas with 17in advan rgs
the suspension is zeal. im thinking i may raise it up to stock height to take the load of the axles.
what clutch do you recommend for 600+ whp street cars lol
i may get a tilton valve to control the pressure of the fluid so the clutch engaugement is smoother and slips the clutch

is it breaking as you shift into gear, or breaking after you are already in gear and boosting?
<<<has broken a few as well, but its usually 4th gear after already being in gear and hitting full boost.
and yes MFactory now offers full gear sets and final drives, but they are $$$

I'm not sure what he means, but i've seen more than a few case where an ACT pressure plate has destroyed a block because of too much pressure. It starts with the thrust washers being destroyed, then crank, etc.

We don't currently offer an aftermarket 2nd gear as doing so will require a new mainshaft to go with it (1st we can get away with as this doesn't get put under the same amount of load).
Although saying that, we are currently developing a new Mainshaft/1st/2nd to complement our existing straight-cut 3rd/4th, although it is not going to be "oem cheap".

ACT six puck= dookie to me. just my .02 as for the tranny thing ive been doing the same thing. ive destroyed 2 diffs and my final drive gear on one was missing nine teeth. now i have a ls tranny in it just to get around. i dunno wtf is going on either. i am absolutely meticulous with my car too and this is hella frustrating
