No Spark After Engine Swap!
Lights come on in car, it turns over, but does not start. The check engine light does not come on.
I had a JDM F22B sohc non vtec swapped in for my F22B2. They took all the accessories off the old engine, it's supposed to be a direct swap.
So what should I check? Just electrical connections? I'll check the grounds too. The old engine ran, so I wouldn't think the dizzy and coil went bad in the last couple of days but I guess I will check those too.
What else should I check?

Could be a couple things here since you did a whole swap: ECU, Grounds, damaged electrical components, bad plugs, wires, main relay, etc etc.
when moving around the dizzy and coil take extra caution.
Resistance check the coil with a volt meter, if its not within the specified ohm reading then you couldve damaged it during the swap. If it checks out ok, plug it in and check after the coil for current. If youve veryfied there is current running through coil to dizzy then the finger points at the dizzy.
over a year ago, my original dizzy and coil both took a dump at the same time !
Mainly bc they were original, but im sure me manhandling them didnt help !
Now when handling any electrical component im extremely careful !

Ok, I still haven't figured out what is wrong.
Checked the grounds, I can't find any that aren't connected well.
Checked the coil, it's good.
Voltage is getting to the ICM
Checked the ICM, even took it to autozone and had them test it, it's good.
Still no spark.
So I'm thinking there might be a problem with the connection between the ICM and ECM? The only other connection is to the Tach I think, besides that everything tests ok.
Is there anything besides the ECM or the Tachometer connections that could be causing this?
If there is a bad ground somewhere would I still get voltage to the dizzy?

I still have a similar problem. Mine starts, runs like a dog for about 3 minutes and shuts off. I have checked and rechecked.
A good go-by checklist can be found here: http://www.tegger.com/hondafaq/faq.html#startrun
I hope that helps....
I will be swapping in some new injectors and a different coil this weekend.
Maybe this link will work:

Good Luck....

Yeah, that's pretty frustrating. That website has some good info, the only problem, is I'm not getting any spark at all. I don't know what else to check.

Ok, problem solved, it's running now.
The ground on the intake manifold chamber wasn't connected at all. I connected it and it started right up.
BTW if anyone is in Utah County, I can tell you a mechanic NOT to go to. Thanks for the help.

i was going to suggest that ground. i'm having similar problems w/ my 90, just found that ground the other day, but the battery took a **** and i'm broke so we'll see if what i did fixed it.
That would be the main engine harness ground. The ground is located in the wire loom with the injector wires. It connects the intake manifold on any stud you can find that it will fit. I know on the CD's the ground is bolted on the right end of the manifold. It uses one of the vacuum T studs.
