Default Type-R shell: What to do?

Here are some pics;

What should I do? I found this the other day. Its got an LS B18B1 non-vtec with Y80 tranny. I've been looking for another project but . Give me some thoughts. Its VIN is JH4DC2313VS003025 (I think I couldnt read the last 3 digits well becasue the windshield was filthy) So its a 1997, saveable? Should I try and buy/get it?

I agree, go for it. It looks like somebody else already tried to bring it back and gave up. Unless the rust is just really terrible, that doesn't look too bad.
:edit: And I agree with the above...the more '97's the better. How is the interior...if there is any?

Awesome info, I was wondering how it got here. I'll do my best to save it. You guys are gonna have to help me out, I drive a 1997 Prelude and I know only a little about teggies. The interior is stripped btu the doors, carpet rear seat and dash are still there.

Edit: there is no set price its just sitting out back behind this shop. I was going to ask them about it but I'm not sure how to approch them.

if its behind a shop then it could be costumers car, then again i don't know a lot of ITR owners that would allow for their car to be sitting like that without actually getting work done to it

talk to the shop owner and figure out what's the deal on the car, find out if its owned by the shop or by a costumer, if costumer then get their number and talk to them personally about buying the shell from them

they may or may not know anything about the car (and it's value). heck, they may be glad to just get rid of it for cheap if you haul it away. there have been shells sold for less than $1000 and i wouldn't be surprised if this one would be another since it doesn't have the five-lug, the engine's crap... but it looks like there may be some interior pieces () GL, buddy.

Approach them and ask them what they want for the car. I'm sure they will throw something out there, but I wouldn't let them walk all over you. Many on here have bought shells in similar and worse condition(94rs-turbo, Bradstard) and have restored them to running condition.

So what parts do the Type-R and other Integra's have in common? Is there anything from a LS or GSR in a junkyard that I can use to get this thing rolling?

Motor and transmission from a lower model will bolt in(in a pinch people have even used SOHC D-series motors to get them rolling), the front suspension is the same so you can use LS/GSR suspension, brakes and hubs to get wheels on it. I don't know if LS/GSR rear LCA's can be used on the ITR subframe, but I would assume they can be, so the rear suspension/brakes/hubs shouldn't be a problem either. Hood is the same, taillights are the same, all of the interior is the same. (by same, I mean interchangeable) I can't tell from the pics what else you're missing...

pretty much everything from an ls/gsr will bolt onto the type r shell and work, basically honda made these cars like lego's which is great for parts but horrible for the fact that thiefs use that to their advantage
