Default b20v build this weekend...correct me if I'm wrong.

went with
gsr head
gsr timming belt
22t water pump
ITR oul pump
arp gsr head studs
gsr/b16 dizzy
oil sanwitch
arp rod bolts
not sure on ECU? (p28 chipped. or GSR? can they both be tuned?)
gsr head gastket
planning on boltin on pumps
changing out rod bolts by removing the oil pan?
putting the head studs well adjusted?
throwing on the head and linning everything up. bolt it down
and slap on the timming belt

does this sound good to you guys the head is already tapped.

let me know if you got any tips. or ideas I'm open to anything help full...this is my firs time doing this but I've been reading about it and i think i got it down.

BTW if anyone has the link to the build a safe lsv thread, let me have it thanks.

In the search menu, type in user name BAMBAM, And theres everything you need to know. If you have a b20 than you can not use a gsr head gasket because its 81mm. You cant just put in arp rod bolts they need to be pressed in.

means the rods need to be taken out and brought to a machine shop.

WRONG

Rod bolts also do not have to be pressed in, but you do have to tap or press out the stock rod bolts. I've seen it done in the block before. The head gasket for a GSR or B16 can't be used though. You'll have to use a CRV non vtec head gasket.

But for "lluks_84" questions, your build sounds ok, but with either head, you'll want to notch the pistons or get aftermarket pistons with larger valve reliefs to accomodate the VTEC head's larger valve faces, especially if you plan on using high lift cams.
"putting the head studs well adjusted?" - not sure what you mean here besides just installing head studs

Good Luck with your build. Do ALL of your research first thats for sure.

good to read your reply...and about the head studs, i meant that the rod bolts dont go into the block with torque they are supposed to stay loose and barely touch all the way down into the block. just wanted to show that i knew that far.
and damn research i guess in need to do more i thought the pistons i had would work? would it be damagin andy thing if i use my stock pistons?
i have the '00 b20b... the high compression one?

if you want the rod bolts installed correctly and without damaging the rods you should have them press out the old one and press in the new ones. if you just try to hammer the old ones out you run the rust of damaging the rod or piston.

i sagest the vtec gasket over bored it gives much better sealing around the cylinders https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2235725 check out the link we always use the vtec gaskets with no problems even with high boost. i also sagest if your pulling the motor apart to change the rod bolts to get some of the rs 84 or 84.5mm typ r pistons they work great and are pretty cheep just my 2 cents good luck on your build
