I know ive got a B16 VTEC head, and a B18A1 block.

I need to go buy a new PCV Valve and im guessing its probably the same for b16a1/a2. But for otheritems which are different, how do i know exactly which head i have?

I cant tell by the valve cover as i know its not the original.

 

On the exhaust side (to the left) you should see two numbers, ie 9|8, or 8|9, this is the year your head was made.

8/9 6/0 2/3 1/0 Are my numbers... so 89? That makes it a b16a1?

 

8|9 makes it a first gen B16.

 

And that came in what vehicle in USA/Canada?

I can find which JDM vehicles it came in but thats it. Im looking to pick up a PCV valve from the parts store and they will only be able to find it by make/year

Also, what do the other 3 numbers mean?

 

From what i can see the 1st gen B16A only came in JDM and EDM vehicles.

Would a b16A2 PCV Valve be the same?

 

Get your parts from a 94-95 obd1 honda del sol vtec that came with a B16 in it. That will square you away with most parts you need for the head and some for the block as well.
