tranny filler bolt
well went to go change my tranny fluid in my crx with a b16 swap and the filler plug bolt is right up against the inner front lca mounting point. i cant even get a socket up against it, any idea on how i can get to it without taking it to a shop or lowering my tranny?
i drain mine and fill it through the reverse sensor sure it takes a while but it works
as for how much you'll need to pull the fill plug best way to do it in my book you put the front on jackstands pull the fill plug forst then the drain plug ,drop the car back on the ground pull the reverse sensor then fill it through there then just reverse the operation

the reverse sensor is a whole lot of drama to pull out and put back in, compared with just making sure your car is level on the jack stands and filling as originally intended. I have tried both ways, and in my opinion, it is much easier to just fill as it was intended.
oh yeah, and the filler bolt is a 17mm i believe. so get the 17mm 6 point box end and you will be in business.

well i figuered it out they didnt make a 6 point ratcheting wrench so i just used a normal 6 point wrench, filled it up with 2 quarts of redline mt 90 but it still grinds maybe even a little more, i asked and some people said it'll take a day or 2 to feel a differnce, that true?

How do you make sure the car is level? I just throw a level on the sunroof?
Let me know the real way.

Well, there isn't really any science to it. I just jack up the front and rear, and make sure the rear is eyeball'd level or a tad bit higher. if the car is jacked about an inch or 2 higher in the back than the front, you won't spill any oil at all filling through the filler bolt hole.
I used to just jack up the front end and change it that way, but you can potentially loose a lot of oil if don't get the filler bolt in quick enough. That happened to me several times and I decided there had to be a better way.

well what i did was jack the front end up, took the filler and drain plug out, lowered the car down to stock to drain the rest of the remaining trans fluid, plugged the drain hole, lifted the car up enough in the front to get my hand in there to fill the fluids, matched the rear of the car with the front to get a level car, plugged the filler hole and on my way i went.
