Wiring harness q...
I'm using the stock d15 from an 89 dx hatchback w ac, pwr steering and an auto trans, and am going to bolt up the motor to a 5spd from an lx or ex sedan (i was reccomended those two cars for the swap). the shell that i'm swapping everything over to is a base model 89 hatch. i want to keep the AC, but am ditching the power steering and keeping the stock manual steering rack on the receiving shell. does it matter what wiring harness i use for the engine bay? (ie if i get a good condition one from a 4spd manual base model w/o ac or powersteering) will i be able to use the wiring harness fromt the donor (auto trans) hatch w an ecu for a manual setup? i ask because the wiring harness in the dx has seen some better days... there's a couple spots where i had to replace the wires in certain sections (it used to be my g/f's car) due to one of the prev. owners ran a 14g power wire to a sub and was pushing WAY to much power through it and melted a bunch of the wires together... yeah... its nasty. uesable, but nasty.
so yeah i ask now BEFORE i get to swapping engine bay parts, so i know what i'll be facing up against when it comes (i'm currently swapping interior)
thanks in advance!!
