Default Weak Handbrake

my hand brake is kinda weak. keeps the car from going anywhere when parked but I can easily drive off with it engaged and it doesnt do much when I pull it at low speeds.

drums in the rear recently replaced, had the same problem before though.
i adjusted the brake cable from inside, but that doenst help much. is there anything else I can do to make it grip better?

Try twisting the washer I drew the arrow to. Sorry if the arrow is hard to see. I have twisted that washer to expand the shoes to adjust my break always. It has worked for me.

When properly adjusted you should only be able to pull the E-brake up about 5-7 clicks.
If you have adjusted it at the handle and it doesnt work, check the adjustment screw refered to in the one post. You will turn it to either pull the shoes in, or push them out. I am guessing if you take the tire of you can spin the drum very easily. With properly adjusted drums their should be a very lite drag on the drums from the shoes. As time goes on and the wear down they need to be adjusted to ensure proper braking.
When you get the drums adjusted you will most likely have to re-adjust the E-brake as it will be to tight.
Good luck and hope this helps.
