Crossmember..can i ditch it?
I wish I could just ditch it. But you can't. The crossmember both gives the front end of the car structural support and provides mounting points for the radius rods. If you need more room up front, you can buy a custom crossmember.

i ask because i didn't see the point of it since other hondas don't have 'em.

Hey check this out, My father in law and I were looking at the crossmember and he is a 30 year vet to working on all kinds of cars. Now he says that if you take some good aircraft grade metal and weld it on to the crossmember in a area bigger then where you want to notch it out for the header, then cut the area out and then weld in the seams it will hold perfect, I think i am going to try this so I can get the jdm 4-1 ITR header in there. I think this will work, letcha know how it goes.
nah, honda just stuck that on there for kicks right? the reason newer hondas dont have them is b/c honda has stiffened the chassis accordingly.

He asked this since obviously he has never looked under his car, or it would be self explainitory. since the radious arms clearly go between the lower control arms and the crossmember. And front mounts and front cross members are totaly different animals. I think he meant to ask about the front mount and not the front cross-member. At least that would make more sense.

no, but it'll get rid of your wheel hop and eliviate (-5sp) you from having to cut, or take a sledge hammer to your crossmember so, you can run a bigger header or downpipe.

id rather take a hammer to it then spend 500 bucks unless it was absolutely necessary. just my opinion though
