Default Oil Change.

I have a D16Z6 (SOHC VTEC).

I know that the oil capacity is 3.5 qts. And that's the amount you normally change in an oil change.

But the catch is, my motor is supercharged (Jackson Racing Supercharger). I just bought the car, and this will be my first oil change.

Is the supercharger self-contained in that it has it's own oil/lubrication system...? Or does it feed from the engine oil tank...?

In other words, for my oil change, do i have to use any more than the 3.5 qts i would use on an N/A D16Z6?

Thanks in advance....

Look for an oil feed line, I'm sure it has one. What moving parts that see friction don't have a lubrication system? Unless of course it has all sealed bearings but I'm pretty sure it needs some oil.

That only really works if your motor isn't burning any.
I would ask the people you bought it from in all honesty. they might be able to help you out, if not give the manufacturer a call.

if you know enough to change the oil you should know enough to look at it and see. just check it out. or i bet if you just take a picture of it someone here on HT can look at it and tell.

I bought a supercharger and the guy was telling me to add as much as 1 cap off the oil bottle to the supercharger to lubricate the internals or something.

Ask STREETWERKS, I think he's the supercharger guy or might of been someone else who is the supercharger know it all

the supercharger oil will be minimal...i've seen some that have their own supply. i didn't see anything about oil in the jackson instructions, but here have a look:
http://www.supercharger.com/gr...0.pdf

if you have a different model, look here:
http://www.supercharger.com/Sh...33370
just click on instructions
