Default 91 CRX RPM needle out of sync. Any ways to make it accurate?

Well my rpm seems to be out of sync. Idling the needle would be at 0. Anyone know how to fix it? It was like this a week ago and fixed itself, but came back again today.

Igniter may need to be replaced, or you have some kind of interimment electrical issue. Does it rev up at all or stays at 0? Your tachometer could possibly be going bad also, but easier to discount the igniter than the tach unless you've got a spare gauge cluster or tach laying around.

This is an automatic car.

It does rev up. The car is all stock, have a full tune-up recently. Yesterday it rev like usual, change gears around 2300 and stay around 1500 during driving. Idle at around 900-1200. But today when it's idling, the tach just drop down to 300 sometimes to 0. I put it in neutral at red lights and the needle drop to 0. Also I coast down hill in neutral when possible and the needle will be at 0.

Now the engine drives like normal, but the needle goes from 800-2000 for normal driving. When I feather the pedal, I can cruise around 1000-1300. And sometimes when I hit the up-shift point, the needle would go to 2300.

I have seen people remove the needles on cars when installing those overlays. Maybe that has happened?? They just didnt get it out back on right.......
