brake caliper wont fit back onto rotor!?!?

Default brake caliper wont fit back onto rotor!?!?

so I took my calipers off to change my wheel bearings but when I wen to put them back on .. the brake pads are too close together.. I tried pushing them apart.. but they wont get wider.



any help is appreciated

are you sure the wheel bearings are installed correctly? is the piston in as far as it will go? did you re grease the slide pins? if you put more grease on, perhaps there is too much grease inside the carrier and you won't be able to push the caliper in as far as it will go because its packing the grease in.

Use a C-Clamp to compress the caliper piston in further. If need be open the bleeder nipple and then compress the piston.

x2 for Zeppelin. my sugetion would be the master cylinder cover. just unscrew it and pull up a lil, use a c-clamp and slowly compress the piston back in. if it work make sure u start th car and depress the barkes until uu feel it stiffen up

yeah, i'd reccomend opening the bleeder when you push the piston back in. the master cylinder is probably old (you're posting in the EF forum!) and is very easy to damage. when you pump the brakes up, push SLOWLY and only half way to the floor.
