ok check this out.. i have a 95 cx hatch.. i have had a h23 swap in it for a year and ran amazing, a week ago i took the head off to put a multi layered head gasket and arp head studs in, i was going to boost it. did everything right, done it numerous times with other motors. after i finished it started right up and ran like a champ. i drove it around all nite and it felt amazing. the next day i go to start it up and it jumps timing right off the start up. but only like 5 or 6 teeth. the belt didnt break, the tensioner didnt give out, everything was tight. so i put everything back in timing and now it just does a steady crank over, doesnt even sound like it was to try to start up. when i remove the main relay it just does the same thing, when i dissconnect the ecu completly, it does the same thing. my fuel pump primes, my ecu fuse is good, and i got all my grounds.... i mean i was driving it the nite before all this happened please help, thank you

 

No, that's not the main relay. You can confirm the relay is good by touching it when you put the key on and it should click three times.

You need to confirm that you have fuel, spark, and air. There's 10k "car wont start" threads.

im getting air, fuel, spark and ignition switch is good

 

ok... when i put the key into the ignition, the main relay makes a faint click. when i turn the key to on it makes a faint click. when i turn it to try to start the motor the relay doesnt do anything else

 

ok scratch that.... i dont have spark.. its very intermittent sparks, but the distrutors not bad niether are the plugs and wires or coil... ive swapped ecu's and no change. all my fuses and grounds are good. thats what leads me back to the main relay because when the battery is completely dead without charging it back up, the car does nothing and the relay sounds like a machine gun

 

if the rotors worn enough..or the cap it wont start..what about the ignitor?? the plugs and the wires will never really cause the car not to start cuz those usually all wont fail at the same time..it'll run like crap though..i've had time wen the car wouldnt fire..usually always ended up bein wit spark..ignition..the coil..or ignitor..i could def be wrong though..its a car..lol..they're headaches...

 

o well im not worried anymore... i only wanted to drive it around for a couple days before i swapped in the new motor i ordered.. i should get it tomarrow....should be nasty thank you though
