Default Auto box oil level..

On the 99 1.6....when checking/toping up the auto box oll, I know the engine should be warmed up, but in the owners book thats all it says. But I'm used to checking it going through a sequence from "P", "R", "D" and leave it in easch of position's for 10 sec's, then once put back into "P" then check level.

Is this right with all auto box's...inc Civic's?
