Default Does your A/C cool down your car quickly?

Do these little cars normally have a weak A/C? Everything has been serviced and works fine (blows cold air). The problem is the interior never gets really comfortable unless I am on the freeway for about a 1/2 hour. In traffic or driviing around town you can hardly tell if the cabin is cooling down at all. Maybe it's the black on black color combo?

mine its like that also.... I think its because our cars are really small and they are not well insulated.... Some window tints will help.. Also, the blower doesnt blow that much air.... I wish there was a solution...

remember that our cars a/c was designed to be R12 which is better than r134a

If you really want to improve your situation:
1. get some window tints 20% is good
2. get some a/c insulator cotton type and put it on the firewall.
3. Drive the car around without the A/C and see if any heated air from the engine bay gets inside the car. This might be because of uncovered holes in the firewall.
4. research on getting a better blower for your car

as a baseline, i believe the a/c should blow about 55 degrees F...in super hot weather it may be roughly 20 degrees below outside air. almost all air conditioners operate on this principle.

i do not have a/c at the moment, but once it's back in, i will consider tint and insulation. the south is HOT!

Mine is weak @ idle but works well at 55 mph. It's also working in 100 degree Texas heat so yea.....

It's retro to 134A. Mechanic said the compressor might be weak. I'll wait till it poops before I buy another.

make sure that the blower is working right!

Right now I have a problem and that is that my blower is weak. The evaporator is not converting the liquid freon to gas again because of this. Thats why when you recharge your a/c it has to be in maximum and since my blower is slow then it might need more freon.
