LS/Vtec Vacuum Hose Diagram? Too much Pressure in Crankcase?
Hey there.
I believe i have too much pressure in my crankcase... The vent on the top of the valve cover i had a little breather filter installed. I had tons of oil comin out of there. I had a puddle of oil underneath the fuel rail right where the PCV Valve sits, and it was all over my hood... so i just replaced it with a hose that runs to the bottom of the engine bay and drains underneath.
Now i know that the valve cover vent should'nt have oil coming out of it... just fumes, which makes me believe that there is too much pressure. Im pretty sure its supposed to be hooked up to the intake, but there is way too much oil for me to be comfortable doing that so i was thinking of installing a catch can.
Also, The PCV Valve just has a hose running to underneath the vehicle as well. Where should that be hooked up to? Any ideas as to wy i have so much pressure in the crankcase?

If your pcv line is dangling under the car then you def. have high crankcase preasure. Pcv line connects to your intake manifold so it recieves engine vacumn pulling fumes and relieving preasure through the factory catch can on the back of the block.
Where on the manifold does it get hooked up to?
I have one connection on the back side of the manifold, and its being plugged by a hose with a bolt on the end... if i unplug it the car barely idles
Im guessing this is where it should be connected to? Why would it be plugged?

So i purchased a PCV from a 00 Civic SiR... im hoping its the same.
Anyway, for the hose coming off the PCV, its currently just dangling beneath the engine bay.. is this blue hose here where it should be hooked up to?

A closer look:
