Default URGENT HELP:Removing dampers from Accord. Already searched

Hey guys. I'm installing my Eibach springs. I started on the rear as it may give me the most problems. I already remove the upper 2 bolts and the lower bolt connecting to the LCA. Now I'm in the process of removing out of the car. But It's been giving me trouble. The shocks seems really tall and I cannot remove them out of the car.

I even use the spring compressor and compressed the springs in hopes that the whole damper would become shorter. But didn't help. So please help me! Give me tips. I am up for suggestions.

Never mind. I found a way. I had to remove my caliper because the e-brake line was in the way. So after I move that aside, I got a whole lot of space. Just for future reference to those.

I NEED HELP!!!!

I am currently removing the front shocks. I got the springs and shocks removed but now I cannot use the spring compressor to compress the new Eibach pro kits. As the fingers on the spring compressor is just too thick.... Do I have to bring it in to a shop?

Do it off your chest!

In reality, for the rears that you did, have a 2nd person stand on the caliper/rotor and push that system down, it'll allow you enough room to maneuver everything out.

As to the front springs, if you can't use the spring compressor you'll have to either try to find a clamp or something then remove it. Or take it to a shop.

What compressors did you get? I got mine from Harbor Freight and they work great (~$8)

Thanks for replying muffinman

Yea I got the rear off perfectly. Everything went rather smoothly for my first time.

Yea the front is a pain so far. Do you know how to do it? As I believe you did this job before? Any help would be awesome.

I've seen the Honda Service manual diagram, and cannot find those types anywhere.

Hey Kid,

Yeah I did it on my car a long time ago. The stock setup you'll want to have spring compressors or mount it and loosen it slowly and prepare for a POP when the nut is off the threads.

My vote would be to go the safe route as loosening it yourself w/out a spring compressor can be dangerous

Well I did the dangerous route. Took it off. I knew it was going to pop, so I kinda tied the springs together with some wire. It helped a little.

The good news it the new eibach springs are shorter than the stock, but it seems I still need to compress it more. And springs compressors wont fit in between the springs. I don't know what else to do...

Worst come to worst, I'll go to Pepboys or something.... How much would a shop charge for just installing the top mount onto the shocks?

you cant get any threads on? if you can get the nut started you can just thread it down and it will compress the springs.
