yes you would have to change the wiring from your old dash to the 90..cuz the wiring is different...but other then that... that should be it...

thats true but im assuming he wants to keep the hazard on the steering column like the 89 has it or put the 91 harness and leave the hazard button on the steering column and use the 91 hazard button on the cluster bezel..... but both harness fit perfect i know....or he can just keep his 89 dash and put the 91 cluster with the 91 bezel on the 89 dash...??

Sorry to hijack this. But I have 89 DX hb and I want to install SI speedo cluster.
Do I need new wiring for the tach?
Thanks,

no just plug and play...remove your cluster and put the si cluster on...but what year is the cluster from??if its 89 si cluster you can use the 89 cluster bezel..but if its the 90-91 cluster you have to use the 90-91 cluster bezel..

I dug this up from searching....looking for a nudge in the right direction/confidence boost-

90 civic si donar car to 89 std-

I found the threads on steering column (I want that tilt wheel!), so I'm cool with that and the hazard switch and stuff.

I found the threads on the gauge cluster, no problem there.

my question is with the actual dashboard, do I need to do any wiring when putting the 90 si dash into an 89 std?

from what I'm reading it sounds like I just need to swap the full harnesses?
thanks a bunch-I've never done this but done other things with cars and I think I can handle it.

i just bought a 91 Si instrument cluster and want to know if it will fit in my 89 DX or if i have to replace the bezel or change any wires?
i know this is pretty much the reason this thread started but i'm confused cuz some people say it will fit, some say it wont, some talk about the dash being the same, some say its different, then something about hazard lights and what not. i just need the cluster replaced.
thank u
