Default Caught in a dilema and need some advice please...

Hey guys,I'm looking for some advice on my situtaion. Please no flaming or anything, just looking for a simple answer/solution to my dilema. I'm an avid Honda nut. Every car I have owned and do own is Honda/Acura. I have a 93' Integra LS that is in fairly descent shape. It has been my daily for quite sometime and I really like the car. But, I recently have been looking for ways to mod it. I decided I want to boost it and possibly build the motor. I do fear that if I do go through with it that I won't beable to stop. I'll end up with a complete race car and I'll be forced to get another DD regardless.

My dilema is that what I'll be dumping into the car to build the motor/boost will be 3-5x the amount the car is worth. Its paid for and obviously not worth much, but it is mine. It is a great platform for a fast street car or all-out race car.

My buddy keeps wanting me to sell it and buy a WRX. My problem is I'm not the biggest WRX fan for 1, and 2 I don't want a car payment right now. Its nice having the extra cash freed up. My wife tells me to do what I want which doesn't help any. So, what would you do in my situation? I'm really in a bind because I want to start gathering parts but at the same time I'm really second guessing myself if I want to go to all that work.

Thanks.

My advice is to search far and wide for a car that someone has already built just like you would if you had X amount of money for the next X amount of months/years. If you're picky, find something close. You can always change things.

Everyone says you can't get the money you dumped into a tuner car back out of it for a reason. You can save A LOT of money in the long run if you get a small payment on a fast fun car and you won't mind having the payment because well....instant gratification is nice.

You know, I never thought of it that way. I did come across a couple of 95' GSR's that were already boosted with suspension, wheels, tires, brakes, etc done to them. I will have to start looking and see what I can do. I would love to have an Evo IX, but thats still a hefty car payment.

Im also interested in a '05 WRX. I think I read up somewhere where thats the year where the tranny is stronger unlike the older models. And I like the look. Gas prices are making me think twice though.

Ya, your not kidding about the fuel prices. I want something reliable for my daily, but I can't convince myself to get into debt for another car. We just recently became financially free and its the greatest feeling in the world.
