hey have problem and need a solution quick!!!!i drive a 92 VTI CIVIC(english import) and when im driving and for no reason at all i can hear like a faint metal banging sound(its only one bang and it stops)!!! its either coming from the engine or underneath the car!!! its like this for a long time now and none of my mates can figure it out!!!! any solutions would be greatly appreciated !!!!!! thanks

 

have you check your exhaust hangers? your exhaust could be moving and when you drive it could be hitting something... this would be my first guess

 

lower torque mounts on engine? one of your bushings in the suspension is bad? i would look at common issues with bushings first. grab hold of your engine and see if it moves.

 

sound for the reply!! i dont tink its the exhaust myself!! i can feel the thud in the accelerator as well!!

I had this problem as well it got so bad I actually severed my ground wire cause my engine fell go figure that one but yea dont be retarded and drive it around just check those mounts

 

severed the ground wire?? whats that???

 

the ground wire goes from the engine to the frame to complete the circuit and make it safe. severed is a word for cut or ripped or sliced. so he cut the wire that made the car safe and a complete electrical circuit.

 

sound,, shouldnt be a tuogh job so just replace the wire???

 

I just started to have the same issue I'mma look at my motor mounts.
