Default Is it possible to make a hatch handle good?

Hey guys, I was looking at picking up an Integra to use for the tack (SCAA type racing). I currently have an 03 Porsche 911 and it's just too expensive to beat on. Anyways, I found an attractive hatchback and I was wondering if you can get them to handle good. I know they have a short wheelbase but I'm sure they make tons of bars to keep the chassis in check. Any recommendations?

Thanks

Definetly!! But, What year hatch?

Get a good coilover set up, front and rear strut bars(good ones not ebay), sway bar and good tires! I'm no pro on suspension but I'm sure some other peeps will chime in and help ya out! Also try posting up in the suspension tech section it might be more helpful.

Thanks, sorry I haven't used this forum a whole lot. It's a 94, if I remember from my friend having an EG, he had to modify the rear end to hold a sway bar. His car was scary, it was a stock EG with cheap coil overs, with 378 WHP. It was so unstable I felt like I was going to die. I just need something super solid, I know it won't push turns like my Porsche but as long as I can get it holding grip and planted.

It won't be cheap but Quality/good performance Isn't cheap! and Ya you do have to modify a little to put the sway bar on, here is a good write up.

If the bushings are bad, then replacing them will help! also tire and wheel selection is a huge factor in handling!

Think of it all as a team of parts and if there is a great team but one part is not up to par, that one part is a weak link resulting in failure.

Hope this is somewhat helpful!

Honda are not unlike your Porsche. Quality costs, but luckily not on the same scale as a Porsche.

you put in cheap products it will handle like it has cheap products.
Good set of coilovers (~$1k)
F&R sways with ASR rear brace (~$450)
a few chassis braces (~$300)
how ever you want to go with the engine ($50 - ^ )

There are plenty of autocrossers in the VA area that would have no problem giving you a ride in their honda... I'd start there.

although the more quality route always seems more fathomable, I was stuck after I lost my job and funds were beyond low, but my whips suspension was goin to the *****, so I got new lca's, ball joints, tie rods, rack & pinion, brake pads, rotors, and shocks/struts ALL off ebay for under $250... the most expensive suspension component i had was my skunk2 camber kit "front and rear" and my car drove like a dream... lca's had energy suspension bushings... ball joints and tie rods were brand new an all about $5-10 a piece.. rack an pinion was reman an it was $60, hawk pads and brembo rotors NIB from someone who didn't want'm for $40... i heard nothing but negatives from everyone who "heard about what I did" but from those of you who kno me and kno my ride, can vouge that my cars driving and handling was smoother than half the new cars you ride in, it was amazing and for all on a budget I had not 1 complaint about anything... Drove fine like that with my car being Boosted for over a year with those budget parts also incase your wondering what the time scale was... unfortunately my car was jacked before I could upgrade to the beak's/asr upgrades I had in mind...
