2008 accord sideswipe - geico body shop
Hey everyone,
I have a black 08 accord coupe 4 cyl MT about a week ago I noticed my car got sideswiped with most of the damage occuring on the front left fender (i was parking on the street). Anyway, I called geico and they told me if I went to one of their body shops to get it repaired that the repair is warrantied for life and can be fixed at any geico approved repair shop in the area. I have heard some people having problems with body shops doing a sub par job and then just pocketing the saved money from insurance. I live in louisville, KY right now and was wondering if you guys have any recommendations for body shops or how I could find a body shop with integrity. Thanks
Alan

Well pocketing money is insurance fraud and that is usually done by ordering parts and not putting them on. So you can always check that later. Second you can take your car to any repair facility. Geico does not warranty the work, the shop does. Geico does no repairs them selves, they just pay. If you want to find a good shop, go to people you know and ask if they have ever been to a body shop that they liked and did a good job. And remember just cause the shop is bigger does not mean it is better.
I would recommend you take it to the GEICO shop. GEICO does warranty the work done at their shops, so they aren't going to use a sub par body shop. GEICO does not want to be responsible for shitty work, so you can be pretty sure the job is done right. The insurance company probably warrantees the work in all 50 states, so even if you move, the car will get fixed, which a non-network can't offer unless it is a chain.
I was just saying you can take your car anywhere you want. Does not have to be a Geico shop. If you have a shop in mind that is not Geico you can take it there. It is your car not Geico's.
