Default Radiator question. should be simple.

hey guys! i just bought a 1990 Honda Accord EX Automatic transmission.

it is missing a Radiator, Radiator hoses, and the radiator cooling fan.

my MAIN question is:

Can i use a Manual transmission radiator in my automatic? with no problems?

Other Questions:
If i cant do the above, could you direct me to a place that actually sells automatic transmission radiators? NOT dealership prices, i cant do that.

ive been checking on ebay and i gotta tell ya its killing me slowly.

thanks alot in advance guys!

I believe the only difference would be the absence of an the transmission fluid cooler on a manual transmission radiator. I would say keep your eyes peeled on ebay, or I have a good used one I could sell...

I apologize, I am incorrect. I thought there was an trans cooler attached. They should be the same whether auto or manual. Sorry for the confusion

Honestly I have not thought about it. Check ebay though, you can find decent NEW parts for a good price. I had a little trouble finding hoses but here you go...

If you still want, shoot me an e-mail surfthethirdcoast@gmail.com and I'll give you a price on everything...

Yeah they're the same for both auto and manual. I believe the only difference would be the addition of the AC fan if you have AC - but I'm not sure if the DX level without AC came with it or not.

Just for clarification they are not the same. The auto radiator has a spot for cooling the trans fluid running through the bottom of it and as such it has 2 connections that you need to connect your tranny lines to. The manual radiator does not have these connections. You must get a radiator for automatic.

Now with that said most aftermarket companies only produce 1 type of radiator since the manual can use the auto rad with no problems.

Yup. If your car was manual and the radiator was automatic compatible, you're good to go. Since the radiator is made for a manual, you can't use it for auto... There are 2 extra lines for the cooler. But usually, most radiator are made with a transmission cooler.

Most companies make 90-93 radiators compatible with both manuals and automatics
