The dash itself, yes. Are you looking to convert to the electronic climate control?

both 99-00 dash can go into 96-98, or the other way around, direct bolt on. The only different is the climate control and wiring harness that connects climate control to blower and cooling coil.
Since you are gonna swap the dash, you definitely have to take the whole dash out. By doing so, why not have another hour to remove the cooling coil, blower and wiring harness attached to it. Do a digital climate control swap since you have gone that far.
Bear in mind that 96-98 climate control panel can't mount properly on 99-00 dash, the other way around too.

itll go in but u might as well do the climate control swap since the hardest part is taking out the dash itself.
the difference between the two is that the 96-98 dahs have tabs to secure the CC. the 99-00 doesnt.
so if u wanna keep yer current slider CC then you are gonna have to stick w a 96-98 dash
jus do the swap. i did. the labor wasnt that bad. jus taking out the dash was a PIA

The 99-00 CC swap is a lot easier than you would think to do. if you swapping the dash already once its out all you have to do is swap the motor on the bottom of the heater unit from manual to power, then switch out the whole heater blower and your done since you will already be switching out the dash and harness, etc.
