its an 89 dx an when I talk about the cutting the rear hatch door,I removed the rear wiper then a cut a huge hole inside below the wnidow to remove the motor for the wiper, jsut like how you would cut doors on a full race car.My hatch can be opend with 1 finger an only used 1 shock to hold it up
ic, coo coo. thnx for the info. lata

I was thinking about gutting some stuff. I heard there is something to do with a/c in the dash that can be removed (I took out the rest already). I'm not going to fully gut it, this little guy is my daily driver. What about plexi for the rear windows? How hard is that to do and what weight savings do you get? I don't open those things anyway. I wish I could get rid of my sub and amp, but it just sounds too sweet (My stereo system is so overkill for how I listen to it). I know it's funny I want to gut stuff yet I have a heavy amp and a heavy BA competition 12" sub. Oh well..
My hatch is heavy as crap! There could be some weight savings there too. I wonder if its the metal or the glass thats heavy?
my rear hatch had a wiper an I cut the hatch to get the motor out,I also put plexi on the hatch.I replaced all 3 rear windos with plexi an probably lost almost 200lbs not includein the extra 50 cuttin the rear hatch an removing the wiper motr.
Was it hard to install the plexi-glass? Did you use pop-rivits or black window silicone? Does it look good/last long? Sorry for the questions, im just curious.
umm its on the side windows it came out nice cause its a straight shot but the rear has some waves snice plexi is flat an the hatch is curved.I used pop rivots an the black stuff they seal house windows with.I also used some silcone which was a bad idea since it breaks down in th heat an now on the side windows is some wave an seperations.I dont recomed this for someone who has rear interior as it leakes when its washed an I have to wipe down the inside to prevent rust
