With regards to lojack, don't count on the police finding it!

Sorry to hear though. The R is truly a dying breed.

So far this is like the 6th car that got stolen here in my town after the honda-tech meet me and my buddy hosted. But from what i heard from my friend, they shocked the car? And than they must of rolled it down the street and towed it. Because my friend that owns this type-R is always alert with his car and he wakes up easily if he realizes something is not right. But he told me he didnt even hear his alarm go off or nothing.

I've heard about this method a few times. One way involves a stun gun. The purpose being to blow fuses in the car especially the alarm fuse(s). One guy on Team Integra mentioned his neighbor used to steal cars by somehow taking his car battery and jumper cables to the target car and it would blow the alarm fuses. Maybe one of the many lurking thieves out there reading this can chime in and confirm.

I would think if you shocked the car that way, it would blow more than alarm fuses... or maybe even the dreaded main relay, in which case the car isn't going tostart. While this would disable the alarm, and you could push it down the street to a flatbed.

Yeah, IMO they are mostly concerned with disabling any alarm/tracking device. Thieves who know what they're doing will prolly bring extra relays/ important fuses to replace if they plan to drive it away. Though I've noticed a lot more rear bumper damage on theft recovered shells which look like it was pushed by another vehicle.

I'm with Dave on being skeptical. A boot, gps, and quality alarm install seem to become the new standard.

For those reading:
Boot:

GPS, one of many options:

Why would this be it? Lojack is garbage and if you are going to spend the money you might as well get a GPS system which will be either cheaper or the same price. Either way you are getting a better security system.

So the car has never been garaged ever since he bought it, so this is one of the mistakes that caused my friend to get his car stolen. It was a easy access to steal. And so far i haven't heard anything yet about his car. From what i believe, its probably at a chop shop, and the car will turn up pretty soon on the side of the road somewhere...

2 things....

1. Call your local Police Dept and ask them how many Lo Jack equipped cars they have and where they patrol in your area. They might not have any.

2. It's only a matter of time before your R get's stolen if you park it outside. just a matter of time....
