Default b18cR coupe track times

last weekend i attended King Of Europe and tried my hand at racing there

setup is the following:
- JDM B18CR (stock) '98
- WAI
- stock header (had an megan 4-1 2.5inch collector, but it got smashed when i got towed :S )
- kteller 2.5 inch exhaust with 2 22inch resonator + muffler (magnaflow)
- stock everything else
- suspension omnipower street
- energy suspension "everything"
- bald and dried out yokohama advan a048's (slightly better grip then my street tires and free )
- worn stock clutch (felt it slipping between hard shifts and could'nt do anymore 2nd gear burnouts, got worse after my 3th run)
- stock interior, only removed rear/passenger seats and spare wheel

all this on a 15 min streettune from myself with Ectune

i drove a best (2nd run) of:
2.36 60feet
13.695 sec 1/4 mile
mph was screwed

fastest run (3th run)was:
2.28 60feet
13.71 sec 1/4 mile
105.4 mph

also have a harris speedworks dry nitrous kit (dry system designed for MAF)
fuel and timing taken care of by the ectune

50shot gave a best (with slipping clutch between shifts):

2.45 60feet
13.33 sec 1/4 mile
mph was screwed

fastest was :
2.43 60feet
13.36 sec 1/4 mile
114.8 mph

dailing in nitrous happened on the track... all last minute work (kit got in the day before) A/F was a rich 11.0-11.5 and timing retarded 3 degrees (since i've never tuned my ignition on the dyno and i'm running 94 octane)

comments welcome, and i know i need better 60 feet but tires are crap and NO track prep at all!!!

Why did you feel the need to do 2nd gear burnouts on bald street tires in the first place?

true true, problem was that my fastest times (with spray) where later on that day, right when my clutch started to give away. so i could'nt get the tires up to temp and slipping between shifts
and there was also no prep on this old abandoned airstrip

street tires? a048 are circuitorientated semislicks.

testing these tires showed that when enough heat is inserted traction improved big time. these tires have worse traction then normal street tires when cold.
1 gear burnouts don't heat them up good as the car already gets pulled, 2nd gear burnouts require 2 seconds to heat perfectly

There is no sidewall flex which makes them useless for drag racing. The 2.4 60ft shows thats very obvious. Get some real tires made for drag racing and a prepped real race track and you might have a better idea what your car will do.

you are right sir

only i did not have money to spare for good tires (expensive here in holland) everything imported is 25% extra on taxes and shipping costs
in holland reasonable tires costs almost 150-200 euro's (225-300$) per tire

and the only real race track nearby is about more then 700 miles away. once a time a airbase is prepped decently, for these events you'll need a draglicense and cost about 300$ per weekend and about 8 runs
