First off, im sorry for having to post this in the type R forum how-ever ive had 0 luck with finding information on the subject and have even called vortech and spoke with 2-3 techs over there as well as some of there distributers with no luck on a solid answer. I figured i could turn to the R forum as im sure theres someone in here running a similar set-up. Usually if i cant find an R related answer everywhere else, i can turn to the R forum for solid Tech information.

So my question....Will the b16 Vortech Supercharger kit fit the b18c5 motor. Now im not worried about the piping/plumbing, im woried about the actual Drive-Shaft assembly and how it mounts to the block. Ive searched, ive called, ive pm'd, ive had no solid answers. Ive heard from word of mouth yes, and ive heard no. I know the intake manifold and heads are identical how-ever the deck height is taller on the R motor. The kit is for a b16, possibly purchasing and installing on my b18c "jdm-R", into a del sol. So i know the b16 piping kit will actually fit better, just dont know about the actual drive-shaft assembly. The S/C itself should be the same, just dunno how it mounts to the block and/or if its different between the two.

Ps: Please, no need on the turbo pep talk, i know all the pro's and con's, this set-up simply fits my budget, and appeals to my goals.

i don't see why the shaft assembly would be any different on any of the B series motor kits but how it mounts might. Why not see if Vortech can send you over a complete parts list for both the Si kit and the ITR kit and just compare the two?

 

they are in fact different part numbers for the drive-shaft assembly and piping how-ever the piping would fit my situation better if its the b16 kit, i dont know why the drive-shaft is a diff part number, ive never seen how one is mounted/installed, id imagine it would just be because of the bracket that mounts to the block or something of that nature'

but i know theres gotta be someone here who's vortech'd there itr', sent a few pm's out after reading alot of archived threads but no luck thus far'

thinking about just buying it and making it work

we have the b18c/ gsr kit on my wife's itr.

i don't know what the differences are for the b16 kit.

 

ill post what i find out when it comes time for the install

blackR, mind shooting me a pm with what kinda set-up you running and what kinda power you made?

just curious, i know what the kit made on a b16 @ 10psi, just curious how it fairs on the itr....time will tell...just curious

 

I had a Vortech B16 kit once apon a time but I sold it because of financial troubles before i could install it. I bought a used B16 kit from ebay for my Ls Vtec and before selling the kit I contacted vortech about this same issue and they told me that I would have to use hardware from the Type R kit to make the mounting of the B16 kit work for me. From what I remember the deck height difference between the B16 to B18C is why the mounting brackets differ.
