Default Better flowing catbacks than the jdm ITR catback????

i currently have the jdm itr catback at 2.36 inches dia. i LOVE how its quiet and stock sounding, but id like to step it up to a bigger exhaust. my engine is a mild build b18c1 and i think my itr exhaust is really bottle necking me.

i have a 2.5 inch catback with no muffler sitting in my garage. what muffler should i add to the 2.5 to create a well flowing exhaust system, but is still quiet? loud exhausts in my area = tickets... so im open to any suggestions... quiet sound, good flow, and 2.5" to match my 2.5" catback piping i have already.. thanks.

i was thinking either vibrant muffler, or es tuning, something low key looking and they both come in 2.5" diameter. do you guys have any other suggestions on what mufflers to go with? mind you, i live in OC and cops just love to pull any loud hondas over.

The ES Tuning muffler I last heard was NOT quiet. Try a WorldSportII or SPII

Those are basically turbo mufflers if you dont want it to be loud. They're straight through so if you put it on a N/A it'll be loud.

i love the way apexi ws2 sounds, but im running a test pipe so it should be loud. anyone running their ws2 with no cat? how does that sound? and i believe they dont make a 2.5 muffler. i cant seem to find a quiet 2.5" muffler.

Honestly, if you want a performance exhaust that flows well for a mild build and is still quiet, it is already on your car.

What is your build?

im just wondering if the ws2 will outperform the jdm itr catback in terms of flow characteristics.

this is a clip of the ws2 which i love the sound of... anything louder would just make me a cop magnet. but this guy is running stock headers and cat. im running a test pipe so im thinking the ws2 wont sound as quiet as it does in this clip.

It would be a bit louder but if you have a good resonator then you should be fine.

Yes, It will outperform the Type-R catback. You've got a nicer setup then I thought you did, Internals and exhaust. BTW, How much power are you running at the wheels, I'm going to say 180ish???

Just out of curiosity tho, did you correct the B-Pipe cat flange bottleneck on the ITR catback?

I think you should keep your exhaust now, and put the $ you were going to upgrade the exhaust into more engine parts! It's a nice set up, but IF you must get new exhaust cuz you want it to flow better W2 all the way!

I agree, the itr exhaust system is already well designed. I would suggest stick with the itr piping and get the spoon axle back, has a nice sound with out being too loud.

i made 192hp/148tq on church's dynapack. I want to upgrade some parts like my crap gsr intake mani, go with a 3" intake and upgrade my cams to s2s2 or s2pro1's or something more aggressive than the blox type a. thats why im searching for some answers on a better flowing exhaust so it can match my setup goals a little better.

no, i actually didnt. i noticed that at one point on the piping, it really narrows down, seems like down to maybe 2" or so.
