my son has a 1990 civic lx the car die's after 10 min's and won't start again for an hour i've given the car a tune up changed the main relay and fuel pump and still has the same problem

 

Starter? Battery?
Most places will do a free starter or battery test.

what is the car doing? is it clicking ? is it not doing anything?is it cranking but wont start? little more info please

 

sounds like a crank sensor or distributor problem to me...do you have a repair manual?

Does it have an alarm? One of my Accords used to have a starting issue that was linked to a poorly installed alarm.

I'd almost say it to be the distributor though. I've seen a ton of distributors fail randomly.
