Painting integra headlight housing
Ok so I just recently purchased a 99 GSR. It has the jdm front end on it, but the headlights have a chrome housing instead of the popular black housing. I want to paint the housings black on them though, anybody done this before or have step by step instructions? Is it hard or simple? Need some feedback
its pretty easy i did with a buddy of mine took about a couple of hours.
Heres wat to do.
1. Take all bulbs and plastic pieces off the headlight before baking.
2. After done that get a baking sheet foil on it. Place headlight in middle of oven away from heat.
3. Preheat oven to 265 degrees and bake the headlight for 10mins no longer. Have gloves handy and a flat head screwdriver.
4. After u pull the lense off the housing their will be 4 screws then (carefully) pull the chrome lense out.
5. Pull the turnsignal lense out and tape off inside housing from spraying paint in and if u wanna have a chrome ring around the driving light u have to tape that off too. ( i didnt).
6.use duplicolor high temp paint i used semi-gloss.
7.when your done with everything painted and put back together. Preheat oven again to 265 degree and leave in for 10 mins then the housing and lense will slide back to place like butter.
I know it seems alot but after its done its well worth it better then spending a crap load for blk housing itr when u can diy it in a day.

This isn't really related to the post, but your answer was so detailed, I'm hoping you can help me. I have a 2k Sedan & I tried after market headlights to no avail. How do I re-seal them after they are backed?
