D16A6 questions
I am planning on building my D16A6 Si motor and had a couple of questions for those more experianced than I. I have tried to search for answers and didn't come up with anything so here goes:
Question #1 - Does any aftermarket company make valves for this motor or will aftermarket valves from a sohc vtec motor work? I am planning on a bisimoto valve train but couldn't find valves anywhere.
Question #2 - I am thinking of doing a JRSC setup but have heard they no longer produce and sell the supercharger kit. What are my options here, is there another company that makes a supercharger kit for my applicaiton or anywhere that still sells the JRSC?
Thanks in advance

1. There is a lot of aftermarket support for the A6. If you just do a search on google or even on H-T you might find what your looking for.
2. Correct they dont even make them anymore. Supercharge? That little swirley snailey looking thinga-ma-bob on the end of a manifold, is a D-series motors best friend IMO.
^ But to each his own

Their website wasn't helpful at all. I'm sure someone out there has it on the shelf.

thanks for the help. I will keep searching for the parts i need online and see what i come up with. and i know turbo sohc is a good, and more popular, option but i am liking the dyno graphs that im finding for the supercharged set-ups. Plus it seems like everyone is doing sohc turbo now and i want to try something i haven't used before...

Exospeed does work on the D series too and should have good information.

Valves for D16A6. As far as what we sell and use in our cylinder heads.
We use and stock Supertech and Si Valves. they both have Standard size and oversize valves.
Valve train, we use Supertech and Isky valve springs and retainers for the A6
I believe WebCams also have Valvesprings and retainers.
I thought I had some pics of the Valves on a head, but i guess not. Here are some pics of the headwork we do for the A6.

We have access to 29mm (standard), 30mm (+1), and 34mm (+5) intake valves for the D16A6. Exhaust in standard and +1mm as well. For anything more than 30mm seat need to be changed. We now also cnc port heads with port profiles that were perfected on the flowbench and supported by dyno data. PM for details. I hope that helps.
