Default F22 Pistons

Does anybody know what the difference between Accord 90 - 93 F22a & Accord 94 - 97 F22b pistons is?

I see Arias list forged pistons for the F22a 90 - 93 Accord but would these be any good for an Accord 94 - 97 F22b?

Or could I overbore to 86mm and use F23 pistons?

Any advice would be great.

i may be wrong but i think it has more to do with the rods/wrist pin location. i THINK the bore is the same.

I know the bore is the same 85mm but your saying that the pin location is different between f22a & f22b pistons.

Can anyone say for sure if there is a difference between F22a & f22b pistons?

The Bore, Stroke, rod length, compression height, and the piston wrist pin size & type (Press Fit WP) are all the same between the F22A's and B's so they should work no problem.

I find it odd that Arias list there F22 pistons for the F22a only where as Nippon Power list their XTP Cp Pistons for the F22b only.

Anyone shed any light on this?

Reply from Arias pistons when asked if the F22a pistons were different to the F22b

'Sorry but they are different, the f22a piston has a taller compression height than the f22b and the piston would stick out of the block, not to mention that the valve reliefs are not in the same place and could not tell you if they would work. We can custom make them for you and the price is the only thing that would be different.
hope this helps

Wow ya learn something new every day. After all the measurements that I have seen with the stock compression height for both SOHC F22A's and B's being 30.55. Did they say by how much they differ. I know the SOHC F22B2's are out of the hole by 0.002mm to begin with so adding more could be nasty.
