k24 (accord)/ k20a2 head...new pistons??
ok i have been looking into doing a k24 swap from the accord but then putting hte k20a2 head on it. from what i have read the k24 from an accord will not bolt up with the stock pistons, thus making me need to purchase new pistons. i would like to get new rods as well, what companies are making rods and what compression pistons should i go with. i would like to achieve around 220HP with kpro and boltons and was thinking perhaps an 11.5:1.. has anyone currently replaced pistons in the k24 accord engine. any info on this topic would be very helpful. thanks in advance

I would look into the CRV shortblock. The stock rods are very good and can be strengthened by almost 100% by sotpeening and polishing them smooth.
Look into some tsx pistons to bump up compression.

Re: (Deetz)
why is it that only the accord engine is unable to bolt the k20a2 head on it without chaning the pistons, how come the other k24 blocks work

I have a K24A4 Accord block with a K20A2 head and oil pan sitting on an engine stand in my garage. Who the hell said anything about changing pistons?

Re: (tyflip2)
I'd like to know too as I have the TypeS head sitting here...Brian G at Hasport said something about needing to change to pistons too...need to get more info from him.
BTW I think it was Eagle who said they will have rods for the K24 by April...but maybe it was Crower...can't remember who I spoke to at the SEMA show in November...

Re: (fastbrakes)
crower already has K24A rods
the K24A accord uses different pistons to the K24A CRV block.
have you tried spinning the crank with the K20 head bolted on and the VTEC lobes engaged?
