okay this weekend i installed a skunk2 intake manifold on my b18 in my hatch... i ran all my vaccum lines the same way my b18b intake manifold was and had to put my throttle body, injectors, fitv, iacv on it also... did all that filled it up with antifreeze... and i have this stupid idle problem again up and down up and down... i figured its air still in the coolant system ( i did bleed it) so i drove it down the road to try and get it to maybe release some air that may be traped... came back still does it... put more anti freeze in it... then i just kept checking my vaccum lines over and over none seem to be leaking or anything... so i gave up drank a couple beers got my honda book out and came accross how to read the check engine codes so i did that and just started writing them down long long short blah blah blah on and on... well it came up as throttle postions sensor, iacv, i think fitv was in there... i knew o2 sensor was going to come up and i got a code 20 and it wasnt listed in my book... so i figured maybe code 11 no code 11... code 2... no code too and i was shure it did 2 long blinks... and i read them 4-5 times to make sure i got the codes right... being that i was buzzed... so it all turned out to be the right codes... tonight im just going to take a can of starter fluid and spray each area back there that may suck any air and that will defently tell me if there is a vaccum leak...
well i guess my question is... is there anything else i should check out while im at it... or could my sensors really be bad b/c they worked fine on my old manifold with no idling problems..
NEW: problem down below... read and help me out please!!!!

and im no darn english teacher so anyone freaking comments on puncuation and spelling im going to freak... so no muble jumble and just answer the question</TD></TR></TABLE>
FYI: You're not going to get many responses by acting like a dick.
Did you make sure you have the correct harnesses going to each sensor?
Another option would be to try resetting the ECU, although the symptoms you describe sound like a dirty or stuck FITV or IACV.

i only wrote that b/c it seems like every post i write someone says do spell check and or why did you do this or you should do it like this or this looks like **** and why this and why that...
but as for the only things i dis-connected for plug wise... is the one on the manifold on the right side right about above the injectors... for the iacv i just took the 2 bolts out and left the coolant lines and wireharness hooked too it... when i put my b18b manifold on i had this same problem so at that time i cleaned the fitv and the iacv... and in side the fitv that white condom piece as i call it i tightened that up and that seemed to do the trick... well all this was only 2k miles ago b/c that all i have on my swap since i put it into the car... so as for the dirty fitv or iacv... i will pull them off again and clean them up but i doubt they are dirty... but who knows... its defently worth trying to see if thats the problem... anyone else or any other ideas

Check your gaskets!!!
I put a new TB on my B16 and when I was done my idle went nuts, I couldn't figure it out, I found it was my f**king MAP sensor. I had to make a custom gasket for it and the damn thing fixed my idle (the thing that was nuts is it never had a gasket before). Anyway check all your gaskets (IACV, MAP, TB, and IM) if it's leaking your idle will suck.

yeah i was thinking my gaskets too.. and thats what my starting fluid is going to figure out for me... but if its the gasket from the manifold to the engine... all i have seen for that gasket is this thick one... well the skunk2 manifold is really thick there where it would bolt to the engine and i maybe have 4 threads holding it on... and my gasket is pretty thin now... i know i could put new studs in but that would be a b*tch of a job and i wouldnt really be looking forward to pulling off the manifold again... but i guess i could get the 3 nuts that i droped on the back of my block.. haaa... what do you use to make your own gaskets any how...

im pissed with this manifold now... stupid ****... well i cleaned the fitv, and the iacv again... put them back on still the stupid idle so i just decided to tighting the nuts some more since i have them on pretty tight as it is but some of thenuts the stud stops like half way inside the nut... so a couple threads on and the other studs i can get about 2 threads out of the nut so i was trying to achieve that for all the nuts in the middle and now they are stripped... wtf!!!

use a stud puller to get them out. Also Honda sells the studs and they're priced at 3 or 4 dollars a piece. make sure you have all nuts tightened down on the manifold and check the gaskets.

You really act like a tough guy / ******* for someone who is searching for help.
Jamming down on bolt/nuts/studs to make a gasket seat is the WRONG way to do it. He was trying to point that out to you.
Did you tighten your FITV when you cleaned it? that ball needs to be seated correctly for it to operate properly.

Maybe look into a liquid gasket like Hondabond (I am not sure if it can handle the temperature so be sure to do the research), that stuff makes a bond I would never want to have to undo.

You can buy sheets of gasket at most auto parts stores, it's great stuff to have if you ever run into a situation where you don't have a gasket and HAVE to have one

as for this... that was a stupid suggestion to even say that... everyone should know that a torque wrech isnt going to fit back there.. i was using my small craftman wrech proably smaller then 8" cant be that much torque to begin with... and i know torque proably isnt much to begin with...

I think he means MAP sensor, the baro sensor isn't even in the engine bay. I wouldn't worry about it.

so here is an update... what had happend was i put the plug for the map sensor on the tps sensor and vise versua...
now the problem is... i give it gas it like dies, or bogs down really low and if you let off the gas it will go back to 1500 rpms... anyone know whats causing this to do this?
ohh and now my car is smoking... and it smells at times as if its getting too much gas... white smoke also.. its a fresh rebuilt motor with about 2k on it..

A common mistake forgot about that one...
As for your issue with the white smoke, when I bought my new TB I had the same thing happen, I thought mine was from seafoam... b/c I had done that around the same time. I ended up not having enough time to get the new TB installed correctly so I had to put the original back on. But now you make me wonder what caused the white smoke, the new TB being installed (I also have a skunk2 IM), or the seafoam.
