Crank No Start After Accidental Ignition when Fuel Pump was Dissconected
I was rebuilding an old rusted out fuel tank on my '94 and was installing a car alarm at the same time (while the paint was drying on the tank). What I did next was very dangerous and stupid I know...Without thinking I decided to crank the car while the fuel pump was still disconnected to make sure that I didn't mess up any wiring after installing the alarm and to test that the ignition still worked. I reconnected the battery and turned the car over with the fuel pump's electrical connector sitting on the car's metal frame (where the rear seats used to be). Presently, I have put the fuel tank back on the car, and when I try to start the engine it cranks but doesn't start. I don't think my fuel pump is getting any voltage. I have checked all fuses and they are good (however one time I was measuring voltage from the yellow/green fuel pump power wire that goes into the brown square-shaped electrical hub on the left side of the under-dash fuse/relay box, I got a small 1 volt burst when I turned the key to the start position...it only happened once and was accompanied by some clicks coming from inside the brown hub...which has wires going in one harness but no wires coming out of it). Could I have shorted something when I cranked the car with the fuel pump's electrical connector touching metal? Could it just be that their is air in the fuel lines?
Also, I replaced the fuel filter and cranked the cart a couple of times, then opened and checked inside the new fuel filter I had just put on. It was about half full of gas. When I took the old filter off it was completely full of gas. Could it have filled up half way just by using vacuumed pressure to suck up fuel when I cranked the engine?
in my opinion it sounds like you might have fried your fuel relay i would replace that and see what happens send me a msg if it works or not
Where is the "fuel relay"? I hear a click about 2 seconds after I turn the key to the on position. Would this mean the relay is opening and therefore working?
Ahhh, the "main relay"...not the "fuel relay"..right? So what about the click after 2-3 seconds in the "on" position...does this mean it is still working?
Sorry, I am learning more every minute...is the brown box I mentioned earlier the main relay in a 1994 Acura Integra 3DR LS? If so, I don't think I am hearing the click after 3 seconds is coming from their...instead the click seems to be coming from the engine compartment somewhere. However, there is a click in the brown box that comes on when the key is in the Accessory position. I think you are right I need to replace this brown colored, metal covered "main relay".

Yep...that was it..."the main relay assembly" or the "fuel relay" #RZ-0132 and was replaced with a $65 new part which was not the RZ-0123 and instead was an RZ-1059, but Acura said it works just the same.
