Coolant Temperature Sensor problem

Coolant Temperature Sensor problem
I have a 97 ex. It had an 0bd1 jdm b16 which i blew up.
The harness has been hacked and made to fit obd1. I got everything to work except for the fact that i have a coolant temperature sensor CEL. I have done everything to figure out why i am getting this but no luck.
Has anyone had any experience with this?
What color are the wires going into your coolant temperature sensor?
Would the fact that i am using an HX ecu (instead of cx) make a difference?
