Default a few questions

1) 2005 s2k. 20k miles rear diff fluid changed recently. anyone still get a whining sound from the diff when you steer close to the all the way position on the wheel?

and...

2) is it just me but the fan only blows warm air even when its on blue.

3) when does everyone do their oil changes? i am talking about non-synthetic just semi synthetic oil used at the dealership. manual says 3750. old school is 3000 and some say 5000.

4) manual says change mtf every 60k. dealer says 30k. tech friend says 60k is fine. when does everyone change theirs?

5) when does everyone change their cabin filter? and btw...where is it? this is was the end of the list of questions and have not looked this one up.

the above questions have been searched on the forums but i think either the search sucks on this site or i am not looking hard enough.... anyways...someone enlighten me please. thanks in advance.

NO not on my '03

2) is it just me but the fan only blows warm air even when its on blue.

It depends on the outside temp/humidity. but mine gets icy cold 99% of the time

3) when does everyone do their oil changes? i am talking about non-synthetic just semi synthetic oil used at the dealership. manual says 3750. old school is 3000 and some say 5000.

I do mine every 2k-3k with full syntethic, but i get the oil for free so just go every 5k with full syntethic and you'll be ok. just keep an eye on the oil, this engine burns oil

4) manual says change mtf every 60k. dealer says 30k. tech friend says 60k is fine. when does everyone change theirs?

For $7 per liter i do mines every 15Km, but 30k is fine if you have to pay some shop to do it

5) when does everyone change their cabin filter? and btw...where is it? this is was the end of the list of questions and have not looked this one up.

I didn't even know there was one thanks for the info

if you're running the fan only and not the a/c, the only time it's going to be cold is when the air outside is cold. Logic.

If you're running the air conditioning and it's on the coldest setting and you're getting nothing, obviously there's a problem.

Can't get cold air on a hot day without running a/c.

on my other cars without even on hot days the fan blew out decent cool air without the a/c. i guess its just the car then. it does generate noticeable hot temperatures... thanks for the replies all!

oh no ****... yea you're not gonna get any kind of cold air if the ac button is not pressed and the compressor not runing.

No, i have no clue what that sound is.

and...

2) is it just me but the fan only blows warm air even when its on blue. I get ice cold AC, but if i don't have the AC light on, yes the air is warm

3) when does everyone do their oil changes? i am talking about non-synthetic just semi synthetic oil used at the dealership. manual says 3750. old school is 3000 and some say 5000. It depends on your driving style. Id change it every 4-5 if you're easy on the car, if you're hard id change it every 3k

4) manual says change mtf every 60k. dealer says 30k. tech friend says 60k is fine. when does everyone change theirs? 60k

5) when does everyone change their cabin filter? and btw...where is it? this is was the end of the list of questions and have not looked this one up. I have no clue where this thing is, i need to change it too.

that is physically impossible dude. Unless you had those other cars on recirc, and they were recirculating the remnants of the a/c'd air when you just turned the a/c off, there's no physically possible way they would deliver cool air vs. ambient temperature.

may be no one is reading the last part carefully or may be i am not being clear... yes cold air comes out with the a/c ok...sure... but i am saying that the air coming from just the fan from the sk2 seems warmer than other cars. may be because the car run warmer than others? i dunno...either way i think i answered my own questions. thanks for the replies. just wanted other 2 cents.

pretty sure cabin filter is due at the 30k service. Old ones smell like dank feet.
