I have a b16a2 swap in my 97 del sol, I have a cell 41 which is obviously my primary o2 sensor, but I was curious to which car or cars the b16a2 comes out of stock? And I am pretty sure its obd1 righT?

So i can realize if there are two o2 sensors since the motor is obd1. but the primary o2 cell is flashing. And I appear to only have one since there is no bung in the manifold....
HELP PLEASE

 

the b16a2 came out of a 99-00 si...obd2

Besides a 96 and 97 sol........

 

92-2000 Honda Civic EDM VTi (EG & EK)
92-1997 Honda CR-X del Sol EDM VTi (EG)
99-2000 Honda Civic USDM Si (EM1)

92-95 OBD1 and 96-00 would be OBD2

the 94 and 95 del sol came with an obd1 b16a3, not a b16a2.

del sol's werent made in 96 or 97 so they wouldnt be obd2, only obd1.

They most certainly were! They did not have the front foglights for those years but del Sols were from 92-98 (93-97 in the U.S.)

BUT, in my defense, the b16a3 was only made in 94 and 95. at least im half right.

well, with hondas, the cup always HAS to be half full. we all would never get anywhere if it were any other way.

i just thought del sol's were all obd1 and that they didnt make any cars that were obd1 after 95 models.

 

its a 97 so how could the car be obd1? The motor is. hence the obd2 to obd1 jumper harness

 

in 1996, when they started making obd2 cars, wouldnt the motor then be obd2?

 

its a swap so it has to be obd1 otherwise the jumper harness wouldn't work.

 

oh , i knew that. i didnt know what we were talking about apparently.

i was referring to the oem del sol and their perspective on-doard diagnostics.

if he has a 97 del sol and a 99 or 2000 b16a2, shouldnt they both be obd-2? i was under the impression that all models after 96 were obd 2.

unless the motor is a obd1 b16a2, which i didnt think that they made in america or japan.

 

i could possibly be wrong, but i am pretty sure the crx si came with b16s

jdm cars do not have a number after tha second letter

 

yeah, the jdm crxs and civics came with b16a's, but not b16a2's.

so its either he has a obd-2 b16a2 from a 99-00 civic si, or he has an obd1 jdm b16a from japan that would require a jumper harness.
