I am doing a marketing research survey that I get e-mails about anyhow, I figured it was for the Civic just becuase of the fact that you can totally tell it's honda, well 20 minutes into it they say "Manufacturers are aware of the trend towards vehicle customization. Certain manufacturers are considering offering additional features to allow for more customization.

The vehicle you just built along with the available feature upgrades is being researched by American Honda Motor Company. They are considering offering a vehicle with a wide choice of dealer-installed accessories. This is to appeal to what Honda believes is a trend among young people for greater personalization of their vehicles. "

Some of the features they were questioning were:
Smart Key
REmote Start (which I know is already avaialbe from honda but has anyone seen the pricing for having the dealer add it??? so I picked on that one it should be a mfg option, not dealer)
a sliding shelf in the trunk that holds items from rolling around (this was pretty clever)
HID's
Automatic Climate Control
Branded Audio system ((Pioneer, Alpine, Panasonic) which is really funny as they use most of them in some sort of combination. ie my 05 has an alpine head unit with pioneer speakers)
THe interior accent lighting (already availalbe)
A lighted door sill (CIVIC in neon) cheesy but looked cool in the picture


They seem to be trying to compete with the competition and have the vehicle ready "out of the box" like the questions were about the HFP Package, and they wanted to know if you would be more likely to buy it if it just came with it. Not quite as extream as the Mugen but something along those lines.

I do wish they had a free form part where I could have told them they need to make the accessories less expensive. Honda is a little insane when it comes to a sport suspension that costs upwards of 700 bucks. Anyhow just found it interesting and thought maybe someone on here would too.

Some of the intersting questions:

Honda is considering a heavily accessorized vehicle as an addition to the Honda Civic lineup. Do you think the vehicle you just equipped should be offered with the Civic nameplate?

Assume Honda offers a vehicle with a multitude of accessory options in addition to their current series lineup for the Civic. Does this affect your overall opinion of the Honda brand?

 

the hpf parts are nice, upgraded stereo's from the factory are garbage, for the same amount of money you can customize one way better, but I wish I could have gotten hid's off the showroom. if they carried like jdm headlights front bumpers ect. that'd be pretty sick to.
