Default IC piping too small?

turbonetics t3/t4 .60 trim. jdm b16a SIr-2. 1.25" IC piping which helps me spool up around 3ish now...but I'm running open dump, so I got no backpressure now. Im about to put my midpipe back on (no cat) w/ a greddy cat bak, and I'm just worried it'll be too much back pressure... ne thoughts? should I be alright?

i dont know a whole lot about it but im gonna go ahead and say its wayyy to small. i would use anything smaller than 2 inches. stock turbocharged cars in most cases have larger charge piping than that

oh haha yea that makes much more sense. i would think that 2.25 would be alright though since you dont have a huge turbo on the car

Search for posts by the user turncoat. He did some very helpful calculations showing why bigger is better for intercooler piping.

what's the pipe diameter of the Greddy cat back that you are going to put on?

2.25 inch intercooler piping is good for your setup!! you should be more concerned about the exhaust system, most aftermarket JDM catback are for N/A setups and have 60mm piping which is too little for boosted setups.

You can make a serious amount of power on 2.25" IC pipes.

Do some searching and you'll see for yourself.
