whats this noise
I'm starting to get this knocking noise in the engine bay. It only does it idle that i can hear and then when i push in the clutch it goes away. does anybody have an idea what it is. any info would be appreciated.
well when i check it out it doesnt sound like the engine. it sounds like its coming from the transmission. i had a few people tell me its the clutch but they werent sure what part. i think the clutch is stock but im not sure. is the stock clutch stiff?
mine was pretty stiff when i got it. i hope this info helps you a little better. and thanks for your help.

if you've felt any ACT clutch than the stock clutch feels soft, but compared to other stock Honda clutches its pretty stiff. I'm not sure why you'd hear knocking from the clutch, especially if your not moving anywhere. I honestly don't know. One thing I was going to suggest is take a look at all of your pullies/belts make sure they aren't rubbing against anything. If it is something in your tranny I would think this would only be heard when your actually moving. It also could be something inside your block such as pistons or valves, but I don't know why this would stop when you press the clutch in. All I can suggest is take it to a mechanic...good luck.
