Drum to Disc Swap
I have an 89 CRX Si and i absolutley love it! but unfortunately i want to autocross with it and i know that the drum brakes would not be able to sustain the extreme heats of racing. So i have a friend who is willing to let me remove his rear axles, bearing, brakes lines, discs, calipers, etc, from his 91 CRX. I'm pretty sure that this swap is possible. But would i also need the 91 master cylinder/ would i need to modify it to fit as well. I need more braking power seeing as i already have enough power with my D16Z6. Help?! thanks.

I've been really lucky for the past 4 years then!
There are many FAQs if you want to go to disks, but first of all understand it's not needed, and it'll possibly alter your class in autoX.

the only thing youll need to replace the brake fluid perportioner valve
you can get at the junk yard off of any integra 90-00or civic 92-00 as long as it has
disc brakes on the back.you dont need to replace the master cylinder...

Actually the drum brakes with stand a ton of heat and to change them for that reason is absurd. In actuality the drums brakes are lighter than the disc setup.
There are a ton of people that I race with that auto-x that run drum setups and have no issues. I think you need to read more info on it and not take one single persons advice.

Drum brake setup is far better than the discs. I have drums on my jap import they are considerably better than the rear discs on my friends crx sir, so much so that he has aquired a rear drum setup to swop over from discs.

That would have been good news prior to me deciding that some rear DA discs would look phat on my ride. Now I just have to source a proportioning valve and some lines (they'll go in after the engine
