Go custom?

And if you look at reviews the Cusco cages are horrible.

best thing I've heard all day..a roll cage for looks..is there any other mod you want to do? or are you actually going to 'need' a roll cage for what you plan on doing with the car..i repeat...'need'...

depends on what his plans are for the car..but ya don't go cheap with a roll cage..I would say go custom like TheMuffinMan said..

Im pretty sure I wouldnt be the first to get a cage for looks... Really, there is nothing the car needs. If that was the case then most of us would not be here. I just like the look of a cage in a 4 door, sort of like in evos and sti's, thats all.

He says he wants it for looks so Im going to assume that he'd keep the airbags which the cage would "block" on the a piller and possibly the side airbags. Although since cusco cages are bolted together instead of being "one" piece it would probably break with the airbags..

Too bad you don't live in my area....I have a friend who has built several custom cages from scratch.

You do realize that in order to properly install the cage, you would have strip the interior right?

guys, it's alright, I get it...you guys think it's stupid to be asking about a cage on a daily driven car...good, im glad. But let's not forget, it's my [freak]in car and I could do with it whatever the [freak] I want. Do I have to approve whatever mods you do to YOUR car? No!! God!! I only asked if there was a roll cage available for our car.

look up pics of a daily driven car with a roll cage. and see how the driver looks after the accident. the car gives and you move but the cage dosnt. so gues what happens to the driver. SPALT!!
EDIT: there are pisc on the thread "Racing Civics In Tialand" that has a 4door with a roll cage.

Just from a safety stand point. Cars that are caged usually are meant for off-road use. (Track, not mud bogging and rock crawling.) The reasons as pretty sarcastically mentioned in this thread, are quite obvious. A roll cage is something that makes a car safer in CERTAIN conditions only. If you drive the car on the street to the supermarket, you probably aren't going to wear a helmet, or have the proper restraints on. In a race car when you crash, the safety restraints are meant to hold you in place, far and beyond what the standard seatbelt does, leading to the necessitation of a HANS devices or similar. Further compounding this problem is the fact that the cage in a race car is now just as much a tunable piece of the chassis as it is a safety measure. It makes the car stiffer, and changes the way the occupants feel a wreck. Things that are engineered into the car that disperse energy quickly become less effecient or completely negated making sudden changes in inertia more severe...putting further emphasis on proper safety restraints, hans devices and helmets. In short, if you NEED a cage for whatever reason, 9 second drag car, road rally car, SCCA world touring car, whatever, do it, and follow the rule book. But if its a street car that you want to make look cool, a cage is not the best way to spend your money.

The funny thing about this thread is that the original post didn't ask for peoples opinions just where one might be made. LMAO!!!
