I give you my plates and registration, you put them on your car, run it through emissions as my car, pass, and i give you the money..Or, if you're afraid to do it yourself, i take your car through emissions and do the same..when done i give you $700.00...I've done this b4 with no probs..I'm just taking a shot here because i lost my last stock R connection and reallydon't feel like taking my car apart to pass..Oh i can give you a dented Spoon header which can be fixed too if you want it, its just sitting and is of no use to me...

It would take a lot more than 700 to get it to pass, and too much for me to do...

if the shop gets caught, its a 10K fine. plus, they are on thin ice. then its their license.

if you get caught, im sure you'll end up in court with the shop.

its not like you're killing anyone, but its like stealing. whats the big deal you may ask, but you've gotta look at it another way...

there is a reason your check engine light is on.. and it would only make sense if you could try to find a way to fix that. whether or not it costs more than $700.

now, i really dont care, i mean i kind of do since i used to work in a shop and people would offer you money to pass them.. but just dont post it up on here. dmv would love to bust a shop for something like this if they had the chance.

you never know, all the shops near CT may have a bulletin out to not inspect any 1997 type Rs... or to be on the lookout.

ive done a similar thing, but i did it legally, i registered my car in a county that does not do emissions.

try to find a legal way around it to make everyone happy

 

 

Ill give you 7k for your R then you don't have to worry about emissions.

im not sure if it will work for you, or if you have an adjustable suspension

but here in md, all the emission places have the rollers on the floor and you need to drive over the rollers to get to the obd computer to check your car, and if your car is to low to make it over the rollers they just give you a waiver for 2 years, they dont want to risk damaging your car


now i have never taken emissions ever because of this, iv been driving since 1997, and iv had 5 cars and its worked on all of them that iv had to take in

in NC, they'll scan the regisration, do the inspection and also type in the miles of the car.

if you decide to sell, you may get screwed.

they dont attempt to match up the vins.


its an easy process to do. but risky and a big fine behind it.

My GS-R's door has been painted over. I just hand them my insurance card.

x2, thats what they do in VA...

 

I just put my 01 R through CT state emissions and they definitly scanned the drivers side door. Good idea but i really dont think its going to work. You should just take that $700 and put it towards getting the CEL cleared. Take it to the local autozone and they diag. the car for free with a print out of every code that is coming up. If you dont have the time to do the work on the car yourself pm me, i know a of shops/people in ct that are very experienced with Hondas.

wow. they scan and check the vin in IL, but it doesn't seem like it could be hard to get around, but still. If i were around..... Maybe.
