Default How bad will this hurt my motor?

Please bare with me, I only know stock, bolt-on, N/A, and turbo motors. Now I want to learn nitrous.....with my car.

B16A2 in my EG H/B. I wanna hook up ZEX at a 55 shot. 4 runs at the track every week, not running juice on every run. I know its not the best thing for your motor, but will it really be that bad. It would be professionally installed. Please give expierences if ya can.

To anyone who feels they wasted time reading this post, have one on me. I gotta learn some how. Thanks.

If installed and used properly your engine will be fine. It will actually be less stressful than a B16A2 with a often used turbo/supercharger.

Just don't spray in first or fitfh gear, don't spray below 3,000rpm, don't spray for longer than 15 seconds at a time, never ever hit your fuel cutoff, and check your spark plugs afterwards to make sure you are not running lean or rich.

you should be fine. if you know about turbo'ed cars you can apply some of those same things to nitrous as far as wat precautions to take.

i run a 50 shot wet and i spray on every run and i havent had a problem. i have gone through a whole bottle on the track. you can spray in first if you get good traction.

Have you peep'd the Venom electronic kit? It was reviewed in the new Import Tuner mag.....they seemed to like it. Since the spray is electronically controlled, it is more of a N/A-feeling power gain rather than a full-on, neck-snapping, engine-fuqing power gain. I think they made something like 35whp on a gsr with a 30 shot....not too shabby.

I've haven't gone far enough to see to compare turbo-to-nos engine mods. I was gonna change the head gasket for now. What are you suggesting?

I just need a little more boost without the real thing. Can't quite afford the Drag 3 kit. Actually, I'm not even close to that. To much in the hole with what I've done so far.

I wanna stay with a smaller shot. I'm gonna look into the Vemon kit right now. Thanks for the replies.

The first thing you need to do is research. You need to find out how nitrous works and how/why things break because of it. Nitrous often gets a bad reputation because people that dont know any better get carried away. I believe the NOS web site has good info you should check it out.

Nitrous can be used reliably if setup properly. I used to run a 75 shot wet, on my sohc without ever having a problem. There are progressive timers that make it easier on the engine. You can set it up with rpm window switches and let it turn on after 2500 while you are still able to floor it, and have it shut off before your redline just in case. You should definetly use colder spark plugs. Maybe back off timing. It really all depends on cash flow. You can get away with a basic kit, but its easy to do damage, with more money comes saftey percautions, and consistency.
