Default new clutch opinions

well my newly aquired ap1's clutch is starting to slip. I'm looking to replace the stock clutch and flywheel, i know its a thickness issue so whos got a clutch and flywheel combo that has a tolerable or minimal buzz.

Car is fairly stock but will probably see itbs in the future so i'm looking at stg2/stg3 clutches and lightened flywheels

i had a kevlar/composit CM stg 3 in my teg a while back (before the twin disk) and didn't have a problem with it at all. I guess my main worry as of now is the buzz because i'm sure some brands make the problem worse than others.

Exedy stage 1 clutch is enough for a turbo setup on these cars, plenty of clamping power, and great pedal feel

Anyone have a part number or other resource for the Exedy stage 1? I've looked through a few of my resources and couldn't come up with one.

I went to the Exedy website and couldn't find a stage 1 clutch for the S2K, it appears as though they do not make one. I did find this through a google search but no part # http://www.erzperformance.com/...KHC06.

i am personaly oing to go with the act hevy duty pressure plate and act street disc. I have had nothing but good results with act in my previouse integra. I am going to go with the oem flywheel cause i c no point of a lighter one considering im not going to drag my car. just track and auto-x.

Thanks for the link, seems like they're calling the OEM replacement clutch an "Exedy Stage 1."

Does anyone have any experience with Hardtopguy.com's clutch package (ACT HD plate with OEM disc)?

exedy stage 1 clutch

"Exedy Stage 1 Organic Clutch Kit Features:
- Increased clamped load to handle modified engines
- Higher torque and heat capacity than stock clutch
- Drivability similar to stock clutch
- Pedal effort will be slightly higher than stock due to higher clamp load
- Spring-center dampers to reduce drivetrain shock
- Pilot bearing, throttle bearing, and alignment tool included
- Recommended for performance street use "

There is an oem exedy replacement then there is the exedy stage 1 for performance.

I have installed a few act clutches and have had nothing but trouble with them. The pedal is rediculously stiff with poor clamping force. I have had to replace a few of them due to broken springs on the clutch disk. Exedy stage 1 has an awesome pedal feel, just slightly more springy than stock, act feels almost like a cable clutch.

Exedy stage 1

Just my $0.02
