I just changed the transmission fluid in my 2002 odyssey according to the service manual, but when I got to the "fill it back up" part it was quite a challenge. My car looked nothing like the book since the filler plug had a pipe coming out of it. Could that be a recirc tube for a filter due to a recall involving shavings in the transmission? Should I be changing that filter too?

 

i dont think honda's have trans filters...you can just fill it from the dipstick home...

 

It may not have a filter but the service manual showed a fairly large fill plug with aluminum sealing washer. I found it but that is what had the hole in it with the pipe connected to a rubber hose. There was a bracket off to the side with one bolt, once it was off the pipe came right out and had an o-ring seal on it. That's where I filled the transmission. It was a 1/2 inch hole or so.
