Default need some help

my d16 motor blew a few months ago and im still not sure what i should do between keeping my ol crx or selling it
my friend is sellling me his turbo kit for 400 bucks so it is real tempting but im not sure if i should put money into building the d16 up or just gettting a b16
also how hard would it be to get a b16 head on a d16 is it possible?
i have a spare d16 running im just debating weather or not i should just build this motor from ground up so it is ready for some big boosting in the future?

thanks for your time

If you build the d16 and boost it, it will way outperform the stock b16a2 no doubt about that. so think of it that way. and figure costs for building and boosting the D. or just switching to the b platform. Maybe you could boost the B someday? Also no you cannot swap B series heads onto D blocks, or vice versa. You could however do a z6 or y8 sohc vtec head swap

would the sir head be a big advantage over the si head? or is it just becuase it has vtec?
looking throught my intake ports looks like a few valves are busted so may asweell get a new head.

Putting a B series head on a D is one of those if you have to ask you can't do it kinda deals. With the power of a good tech tons of time and money anything is possible. Worth it? No not at all, for that price you could just swap a B or build a D up.

you could also run a sohc vtec head on it with great ease look in the FAQ for mini me.

i think i will just stick with a stock top end for now, maybe later i will do the z6 conversion.

can you get better heads or anything form anywere? i googled but cant find anything, id like atleast better cams valves springs retainers the works. may aswell do it right for now

and for the bottom end im thinking eagle h beam rods but not sure of a compression ratio, id like to one day boost at around 20 with 92 octane and still be just about dd reliability? would a 9.1 work? or could i step up to 10.1?

id go with eagle rods or something forged ,, stock ones snap like twigs vitaras are ok i wouldnt be putting any major boost on em or anything you would be better off buying some forged pistons also just extra insurance down the road and dont for get some nice rings ,, i got a pretty nice piston rods and rings from here http://www.cnc-motorsports.com...d16a6
