Default high spring rates or slicks?

i have a 93 prelude 400whp kyb shocks and i dont know the brand of springs, i ran the car at the track with bfg kdw's 205 and netted a 13.1 at 123mph, so i desperately need traction, my question is would slicks or a higher spring rate in the rear help me out more. i am leaning more towards slicks but its hard to find a set of used 5 lug racing rims.

slicks by far will be your best bet for more traction

you can have the best suspension in the world, but its not going to help that much when it comes to putting 400hp down on street tires.

Slicks. . .

Also, a heavy spring isn't a 100% cure. You'll need some nicely valved suspension to make the most of the power</TD></TR></TABLE>
yeah i would get tokcio illuminas to handle the higher spring rates, but i was debating on haveing to put up with the super stiff ride on the hour trip to the track, so i'll most likely fork over the grand for slicks, anyone know of a lightweight rim manufacturer 5x114.3 cheaper than 350 per wheel thats what bogart wants. and i know thats not terribley expensive but i like to get a good deal on things.

so a taller tire can handle more power? whay is that. and should i run a 7 inch rim with a 8 inch tire or a 8 inch rim with a 8 inch tire.

Your bolt pattern is extremely COMMON. It's 5 x 4.5" You can get wheels like that anywhere for cheap.

backspacing is another way of measuring an offset

the 4.5" backspacing should work on your prelude just fine

if u already have coilover, or lowering springs. take ur old factory spring from the front, cut em 2 the height u want, and put em on the back...I know for a fact it works..

the lower the offset # the further out of the wheel well the wheel will sit

for instance 0 offset sits further out of the wheel wheel than +55 offset

caliper clearance with a 15" wheel won't be a concern at all for you -- it is the clearance on the spindle, ball joint and fender that you need to pay attention to.

a 22-23" tall slick will fit into the wheel well just fine in most cases without drastic ride height changes -- a taller slick may require you to raise the car a bit if you are lowered currently.

for cheap wheels i suggest going here. they are not too heavy and are made to your specs.

http://www.diamondracingwheels.com link does not work at the moment

here is a reference to see what they look like. they are the first set of wheels you see and also the ones on the blue hatch. https://honda-tech.com/zero...e=136
